Marrakech Balloon Ride Guide: Sunrise Times, Season & Tips
Everything to know before a hot air balloon flight in Marrakech: sunrise timings, how the day works, safety, weather, best season and what to wear.

About 4–5 hours including about 1 hour of flight · From Marrakech (hotel/riad pickup)
Book a sunrise hot air balloon flight over the Marrakech countryside: about an hour in the air above villages and palm groves, Atlas views, a Berber tent breakfast and a flight certificate.

Our hot air balloon Marrakech flight is for early risers who want to see Morocco from the sky at sunrise. You get hotel or riad pickup before dawn, around an hour in the air above Berber villages and desert plains with views to the High Atlas, a traditional breakfast in a Berber tent and a flight certificate.
This is the easy way to book: tell us your date and number of passengers on WhatsApp, we confirm availability and today's price, and your pickup is arranged. Want to know more before you commit, such as how flights work, what to wear or what the best season is? Our full hot air balloon Marrakech guide answers the common questions.

Balloons fly at sunrise, when the air is calmest. Your driver collects you from your hotel or riad between about 5:00 and 6:00, depending on the season, and drives you out of the city to the take-off site.
Over a cup of tea, watch the crew lay out and inflate the balloon. After a safety briefing from the pilot, you climb into the basket and lift off gently as the sky starts to glow.
The flight drifts with the wind, so no two routes are identical. Expect views of mud-brick villages, olive and palm groves, dry riverbeds and, on clear mornings, the High Atlas mountains on the horizon. It is quiet, smooth and surprisingly peaceful.
After landing, the crew packs the balloon and you are taken to a Berber tent for a breakfast of Moroccan bread, pancakes, honey, olive oil and mint tea. You receive a flight certificate before the drive back to Marrakech, usually by late morning.
Couples marking a special occasion, photographers, families with older children and anyone who wants a once-in-a-lifetime view of Morocco. It also makes a memorable start to a longer trip: many guests fly the morning before leaving on our 3-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour. For more ideas, see our list of things to do in Marrakech.
