Morocco tours – questions & answers

What is included in your desert tours?

Air-conditioned transport with a driver, hotel or riad pickup, accommodation (hotel and desert camp), dinners and breakfasts, and the camel trek in Erg Chebbi. Lunches, drinks, optional local guides and tips are not included. Each tour page lists exactly what is included.

Are your tours private or shared?

Both. Our 3-day desert tour runs daily in small shared groups and can be booked privately. All Casablanca tours and tailor-made trips are private with your own driver.

Can you pick us up at Marrakech or Casablanca airport?

Yes, airport pickups are available for private tours. For shared tours we pick you up at your hotel or the nearest accessible point to your riad in the medina.

What kind of desert camp will we sleep in?

The standard camp has comfortable Berber tents with beds and blankets; the luxury camp has private tents with en-suite bathrooms. Both serve dinner and breakfast and are reached by camel.

Is the camel ride suitable for children and older travellers?

Generally yes — camels walk slowly and the trek lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours. If someone prefers not to ride, a 4x4 transfer to the camp can be arranged.

Is Morocco safe for tourists?

Morocco is one of the most visited countries in Africa and the desert route is well travelled. Read our honest guide: Is Morocco safe for tourists?

What should I pack for the desert?

Layers (desert nights are cold most of the year), a scarf for sun and sand, sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a small bag for the camp night. Full list: what to pack for a Morocco desert tour.

How do I pay?

Payment options are confirmed when you book: usually a small deposit or payment on the day in cash (MAD, EUR) for shared tours, and bank transfer for private tours.

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour starts, unless a different policy is agreed for a private or peak-season itinerary.

Which languages do your guides speak?

English, French, Spanish and Arabic, with other languages on request for private tours.
