What makes this 10 day Morocco tour from Casablanca different

Shorter itineraries have to rush. With ten days we can slow the rhythm down: two nights in Fes for a proper medina day, a full day in the Sahara rather than an overnight dash, and two nights in Marrakech to enjoy the city once the driving is done. It is the grand tour of Morocco, with time to breathe.

The route in brief

  • North and imperial cities: Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Volubilis, Meknes and Fes.
  • Middle Atlas and Sahara: Ifrane's cedar forests, Midelt, the Ziz Valley and two nights in Merzouga with a full day around Erg Chebbi.
  • The south: Todra Gorge, Dades Valley, Ouarzazate and the ksar of Aït Benhaddou.
  • Marrakech and the coast: two nights in Marrakech, with the option of a day trip to Essaouira.

Practical information

Pace and driving

Most driving days are 3–5 hours with stops; the longest is Fes to Merzouga, about 7–8 hours across the Middle Atlas. Three days (Fes, Merzouga and Marrakech) involve little or no long-distance driving.

Accommodation

Riads in the medinas, comfortable hotels or kasbahs along the route, and a Merzouga desert camp. A luxury camp with private en-suite tents can be booked instead of the standard camp.

Best season

March to May and September to November are ideal. The tour runs all year; in winter bring warm layers for the Atlas and the desert nights, and in summer expect strong heat in the south. The Roman ruins of Volubilis are best visited in the morning or late afternoon.

Who this tour suits

First-time visitors who want to see everything without feeling rushed, families with children, photographers, and couples celebrating a special trip. It is also a good choice if you land in Casablanca and fly home from Marrakech.
